Ingredients For Chocolate Cherry Nut Texas Sheet cake
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 sticks margarine
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk, or 1/2 cup milk & 1 Tbsp.vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- Frosting
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 3 Tbsp. black coffee
- 1/2 pound powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 small jar marchino cherries
Instructions Chocolate Cherry Texas Sheet Cake
- Sift flour and sugar together in a large bowl. Combine margarine, cocoa and water in a small pan. Bring to rapid boil and pur over flour and sugar mixture.Mix well. Add buttermilk, cinnamon, vanilla, eggs and baking soda. Mix well by hand. The batter will be thin. Pour into a jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
- FROSTING: Add cocoa,margarine and black coffee in a sauce pan and bring to boil. Add sugar, vanilla, nuts and chopped cherries. Beat until smooth. Spread on warm cake.
